The collection and its photographer
The original Nomad Photography website presented the work of Heath A. Korvola. Its introduction described an interest in recording people and places, with outdoor pursuits and adventure travel as the two threads running through the photographs.
The collection shown here follows the English-language portfolio preserved in 2001. Its nine selections range from Montana mountains and the North American West to photographs of Lao PDR, people, places and parks. The original imagery and location captions remain at the centre of the site.

A small-format photographic record
The photographs were originally presented as small web images. Many of those small files remain available, while some larger versions and individual images do not. This edition keeps the photographs at their preserved resolution instead of enlarging them or filling gaps with unrelated pictures.
That scale invites a different kind of viewing: a few shapes, a patch of light, the position of a figure. The galleries can be explored as contact sheets, one collection at a time. Winter contains one recovered image; the other selections bring together several views.
Prints, commissions and image use
This website presents a photographic collection and editorial reading. It does not currently offer print ordering, image licensing, commissions or bookings. Historical price lists and contact details are not current offers. Viewing an image here does not grant permission to reproduce or redistribute it. See Terms & image use.
About the field notes
Field notes are new editorial articles about looking at photographs and practising composition. They are credited to Nomad Photography editorial, the publication label, rather than to the photographer whose historical work appears in the galleries.
The notes distinguish observable details from interpretation, link technical guidance to its sources and do not claim first-hand travel or equipment testing. Begin with Read a photograph before you take the next one.
